Bharat Gaurav trains are themed tourist circuit trains created by the Indian government in association with the Ministry of Railways. The aim is to show the rich cultural heritage and magnificent historical sites of India to the Indian people and the world. The train is now well on its way to becoming the first to cross the international border into a neighboring country from India.
From India to Nepal: Ramayana Yatra
The “Bharat Gaurav”, India’s first tourist train, will travel to Nepal under the Ramayana Yatra theme, as announced by the Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC). The train will depart New Delhi on 21 June and travel to Nepal. In Nepal, there are many destinations associated with Lord Rama, such as Dhanusha Pahar, Baawan Bigha Kshetra and Ma Janki Janmathali Mandir and Shri Ram Vivah Sthal, and the tourist train will cover them all. Nepal stated in a letter that the Nepal Government’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs takes the opportunity to reaffirm its highest esteem to the Embassy of India in Kathmandu.
Bharat Gaurav will also cover the Indian states
Bharat Gaurav should travel to Nepal and various states of India along the Ramayana circuit. The Ramayana circuit is part of the Ministry of Tourism’s Swadesh Darshan program, which promotes the pilgrimage sites associated with Lord Ram. On an 8,000km journey, the train will cover Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, as well as 12 major cities such as Ayodhya, Hampi, Buxar, Bhadrachalam, Janakpur, Kanchipuram, Sitamarhi, Rameshwaram, Kashi, Hampi, Nasik, Prayag and Chitrakoot. The cost per person will be around Rs 65,000 and the train will have a capacity of 600 passengers.
