Indians can benefit from visa-free entry to Vietnam

According to the capital, the Ministry of Tourism of Vietnam has prepared for the temporary visa waiver for India. In an effort to increase tourism, Nguyen Van Hung, Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Vietnam, proposed to remove temporary visas for Chinese and Indian citizens.

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh chaired a meeting during which the visa waiver was proposed. The minister proposed to leave visitors from Australia, Canada, the United States, India and China, in addition to 20 other EU countries.

Visitors from the European Union, including those from Denmark, Finland, Sweden, Germany, France, Italy and Spain, do not need a visa to enter Vietnam. China and India will soon be added to this list if the idea is successful. According to the information provided, 25 countries are eligible to visit Vietnam without a visa. More than 10 million foreign visitors visited Vietnam until October 2023.

In an effort to increase tourism, Thailand has offered visa-free admission to Indians. The Thai government has announced that Indian citizens will be able to enter Thailand without a visa between November 10, 2023 and May 10, 2024. Indian citizens are also allowed to enter Thailand without a visa for up to 30 days. Indian citizens are allowed to enter Sri Lanka until March 31, 2024, without a visa. This flagship program was introduced to support the tourism sector, which has suffered during the COVID-19 pandemic.
