Rapid Rail Delhi-Meerut Business Class Passengers Can Now Access Premium Lounges

Delhi-Meerut Rapid Rail

Officials from the National Capital Region Transport Corporation announced that business class passengers traveling between Delhi and Meerut on the Regional Rapid Transit System (RRTS) will now be able to access premium lounges. They also reported that a dedicated entrance will be available on the platform of each high-speed train station, from where passengers will be able to board directly into the train’s premium lounge.

India’s first RRTC

The National Capital Region Transport Corporation (NCRTC) is building India’s first RRTC, which is a regional high-speed, high-frequency rail commuter transit system between Delhi and Meerut. Its design speed is 180km / h and its operating speed is 160km / h, making it one of the fastest trains in India. Each train will have a premium coach, and the fares for business or premium class will be higher than the regular class. Business class facilities will be available in a premium lounge, similar to airport lounges.

Premium comfort and luxury

In addition to a luxurious ambience, comfortable sofas, magazines, books and coffee and tea vending machines, premium bus passengers will be able to enjoy many other premium services. Passengers holding a business class ticket are the only ones authorized to access the premium lounge. The premium class coach will have reclining seats and will be much more spacious. Officials said this lounge is an idea to cater to anyone looking to spend more on luxury accommodations and offer passengers best-in-class comfort.

The entire section between Sahibabad and Duhai will be put into service by 2025, with the opening of the priority section of 17 km by 2023.
