Here’s Why You Have To Pay More For Your Domestic Air Tickets

As the world accelerates to open up to travel, people have already planned their vacations. But airline tickets will now cost a bomb. Earlier this month, state-owned fuel dealers announced that the price of aircraft turbine fuel (ATF) rose 5% to ₹. 123,039.71 per kl in the national capital. Since the beginning of 2022, ATF prices have increased every two weeks.

ATF makes for 40% of the running costs

The running cost of an airline comprises about 40% of the fuel for aircraft fuel. Since January 1 of this year, turbine fuel prices have increased by 61.7% from Rs 76,062 / kl to Rs 1.23 lakh / kl. Prices have increased for the 10th consecutive time and the new rates will be in effect until May 31st. ATF turbine fuel in Kolkata is priced at ₹ 127,854.60, in Chennai it is ₹ 127,286.13 and in Mumbai it costs ₹ 121,847.11 per kl.

Not only has the fuel been increased, but also CNG

On May 15, the prices of compressed natural gas (CNG) were raised by Rs 2 per kg in Delhi, Noida and Gurugram by the state-owned Indraprastha Gas Limited (IGL). CNG in the national capital Delhi will be Rs 73.61 per kg from May 15th, while it will be Rs 76.17 per kg in Noida and Rs 81.94 per kg in Gurugram.
