Ram Jhula was built in 1986 with the help of Sivananda Ashram. Previously, the jute rope bridge without pillars was also suspended. Although similar in design, this bridge is larger than the Lakshman Jhula. With a length of 750 feet (230m), it is a pedestrian bridge also used for two-wheelers. Ram Jhula connects Sivananda Ashram on the west bank with Swargashram on the east, hence it is also called Shivananda Jhula. Most of the famous ashrams are located in the immediate vicinity of Ram Jhula. Sivananda Ashram, Parmarth Niketan, Gita Bhawan, Swargashram, Yog Niketan and many others are located near Ram Jhula.
