The Agnipath protest caused many riots across the country. The central government introduced the “Agnipath Scheme” on June 14, 2022 and various violent protests have been taking place in different parts of India since then. Protesters set fire to stations and trains and vandalized railway properties. Due to these ongoing protests, Indian Railways have decided to cancel many trains and save railway properties.
Indian railways canceled more than 700 trains
The protests are becoming terrifying with each passing day in various states of India such as Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Bihar, Odisha, Punjab, Telangana, West Bengal and Rajasthan. According to Jagran, around Rs 700 crore was damaged by protesters and crowds at the Agnipath protest over ownership of Indian railways. Indian Railways reportedly canceled 673 trains on Sunday. In addition, they partially canceled 46 trains. In addition to this, even more trains were terminated.
How to claim refund for canceled trains in the middle of Agnipath protest?

1. Go to a ticket counter and take a form.
2. Fill out the form with all the required details.
3. Another process is to call 139 and cancel the ticket. You can even go to the IRCTC app or website and cancel your ticket.
4. You will receive an OTP on your registered mobile number and you will need to use it for the cancellation procedure.
5. Finally, go back to the ticket counter and get claim your refund.
