So you’ve toured the US, met Queen, lived in Thailand, and ticked every other popular country off your bucket list. You may also have gotten to some of the less popular destinations we may agree on. But only a true globetrotter can have visited these little known places around the world. So here are some hidden countries we would like you to know about.
Comoros
Karibu Hunu Kamori translates to You are welcome to the Comoros. It is the 170th smallest country in the world located somewhere between Madagascar. Mozambique and Tanzania. Eight lakh twenty thousand people of mixed ethnicities call the Comoros their home. But the culture here feels more Swahili than anything else, just like its neighbors here are hints of French and Arab influences that make it that much more unique. If you want to escape the daily grind and don’t want to go to Bali or Fiji, why not try the Comoros? The Comoros offer adventure in its most authentic form, with incredible diving, trekking through dense, lush rainforest, and snorkeling off white-sand beaches. Oh, and did we mention active volcanoes for our adventurers?
Kiribati
Made up of 33 small islands, scattered on both sides of the equator, this little-visited Pacific nation is ideal for nature lovers and adventurous spirits. With a small population of one lakh, ten thousand, more than half of which live on the massive ring-shaped reef of Tarawa. It offers first-rate surf breaks, diving and snorkeling spots, and sport fishing. It is also a sanctuary for the birds of the Pacific. Kiribati was also an important part of World War II, with many islands hosting some of the bloodiest battles of the war. History buffs and military buffs will enjoy exploring the relics scattered around the islands.
Tuvalu
Tuvalu is located on the islands of the South Pacific, the most unknown country of all. It is a true sovereign country with UN voting power. You are shocked, aren’t you? How not to know about an entire country in the world? Don’t be sad it is the fourth smallest country in the world with less than ten thousand inhabitants. Located in the South Pacific, so the temperature is always hot. The archipelago of six corals and three islands covers an area of only 26 km². The Funafuti Conservation Area offers calm waters for snorkeling among sea turtles and tropical fish. Tuvalu is a lovely place with friendly and kindhearted people. Add this one of the most hidden countries to your wish list before it disappears due to climate change.
