In August 2021, the Indian Railways has launched the Vista dome coach of Guwahati to Haflong Assam. The coach comes with large glass windows and transparent ceilings to offer 360 degree views from a beautiful environment. The train route is flanked by lush green mountain surfaces in the northeast to give travelers real experience. Day 1 & Day 2: Exploring Haflong
On day 1, guests will reach the new Haflong station at 11:55 AM They can explore places such as Balial Hill Range, Abraham and Haflong Local Pandang Market in Haflong City. Several new models of PPP, both in terms of ticketing and asset monetization will help pave the fundamental framework for revenue generation from tourism infrastructure and tourism railway. In this regard, IRCTC will have a significant role in providing end-to-end ticketing and tourism packages. Whilst, at the same time, attracting private capital and private participation will help achieve efficiency and quality in service delivery. Lastly, there is an urgent need for an integrated policy approach to help the investment so as to unlock the opportunity,” he further said.
Indian Railways in another first has decided to operate dedicated Vistadome Express trains in Assam and West Bengal in a bid to provide a boost to tourism sector on those two popular routes. This is also for the first time that on a single day two trains with Vistadome coaches began their operations in the beautiful areas of North Bengal and Assam.
Improving the connectivity between several regions of North Eastern India, Indian Railways launched two new Vistadome Express trains between the states of Assam and Arunachal Pradesh on December 19.
Vistadome Train Number
The trains were flagged off by the Chief Minister of Assam, Shri Himont Biswa Sarna at Guwahati Railway station and CM Shri Pema Khandu of Arunachal Pradesh from Naharlagun Railway Station.
These new trains will run between Tinsukia in Assam and Naharlagun. In Arunachal Pradesh five days a week, expect, on Tuesdays and Fridays from Naharlagun and Mondays and Thursdays from Tinsukia. Passengers will be able to avail the services of these two trains on a regular basis from December 21
Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) on Thursday said it will introduce Vistadome tourist special trains on two popular routes
– Guwahati-New Haflong in Assam and New Jalpaiguri
-Alipurduar Junction in West Bengal from Saturday.
The first train in northeast India fitted with special Vistadome coaches will leave Guwahati station on Saturday for New Haflong Railway Station and will travel through the scenic Dima Hasao district.
This is the third train in the nation, second within the Northeast Frontier Railway. To have the recently launched coaches that provide a 360 degree view of the open sky, mountains, hills and lush green forests to the tourists.
“Introduction of Vistadome trains is meant to help tourists experience. The scenic beauty and to display the cultural heritage of the region during the unique journey. The Vistadome coaches are equipped with state of the art glass windows. And all glass roofs and provide a 360 degree view. It also has observation lounges for the purpose of site seeing. The rotational seats of the coach are designed to provide added comfort to passengers. Vistadome booking Coaches are also provided with digital entertainment system and Wi-Fi facilities. For safety of passenger, CCTV cameras and fire alarm system are also installed.
Mr Gupta said the train ticket will cost ₹ 1,150.
