Rajim is located about 45km from Raipur and has many ancient Hindu temples dating back to the 8th-14th centuries. The city is one of the holiest places in the state of Chhattisgarh. Because it is located at the confluence of the three rivers, Rajim is considered as sacred as the Prayagraj of Uttar Pradesh. Champaran is located 15 km from Rajim and is the birthplace of Saint Vallabhacharya, the founder of the Vallabh sect.
