Lucknow-based vegetable vendor Anil Kumar Sahu presents the Ram Mandir Trust with a unique clock, displaying the time in eight countries simultaneously. Anil Kumar Sahu (52) recently said that he gave Champat Rai, general secretary of the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust a watch about 75 cm ahead, before the dedication ceremony of the Ram temple. and Ayodhya. “I started working on this clock (75 cm) in October during Navratras, and I recently gifted one to Champat Rai jee,” he said.

Earlier he had donated such clocks to Khatu Shyam temple in Lucknow and Kotwa Dham and Kunteshwar Mahadev in Barabanki.

Clocks made by Sahu have become a point of interest in the vegetable market near the Hahnemann junction. The clock shows the time for India, Dubai (United Arab Emirates), Tokyo (Japan), Moscow (Russia), Beijing (China), Singapore, Mexico City (Mexico), Washington DC and New York (United States). Sahu said he first made the watch in 2018 and received a “registration certificate” from the Indian Patent Office. It shows time for India, China, Dubai, Moscow and Tokyo. Sahu plans to create a watch in the future that can show the time of 25 countries.

Sahu said he got the inspiration for the idea during a discussion about the time zone with the owner from Oman, and added that he wanted to give Prime Minister Narendra Modi and UP chief minister Yogi Adityanath a similar watch. Himanshu Varma, a resident of Vastu Khand in Gomtinagar, who buys garlic from Sahu, was eager to see the new watch.

He said, “I have seen various clocks installed in the reception area of ​​a hotel in Lucknow, showing the time of various important cities in the world today. However, this is the first time I have seen clocks showing the time in different places around the world at the same time. Sahu also said that he was planning to make these watches commercially, but his hands were tied due to lack of funds. He also said that on average, the cost of producing a 75 inch watch is about Rs 3,000; and it takes about an hour and a half to do.
