Apart from being a tourist destination, Mumbai is famous for its incessant rains! Rains are one of the most difficult seasons for Mumbaikars as there is heavy rainfall which leads to waterlogging. Being a coastal city, Mumbai experiences rains every year! Here are some updates related to rain in Mumbai.
Heavy Rain And Flooded Roads in Mumbai
After a week of heavy rains, Mumbai witnessed heavy rainfall. This led to congestion, flooding, traffic jams, etc. in all cities. Places like Hindmata and Dadar, MIDC Sherawane and Navi Mumbai and others are experiencing traffic jams. Even the Western Expressway near the airport has heavy traffic. As for the people of Mumbai, the authorities said that the train was running on time. However, travelers do not agree with this. The Times Of India newspaper reported that a huge tree fell near the Sion railway station after the rains started lashing the area.
According to reports, Dadar, Sion, Andheri, Jogeshwari, Goregaon, Kandivali, Borivali, Malad and other rural areas are experiencing incessant rain. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has said that heavy rains will continue for the next five days!
Andheri Subway is Shut For Vehicles
Due to water logging, Andheri Subway is closed, while traffic is diverted to Vile Parle bridge &Captain Gore Marg S.V road.

Around 9 am, the Mumbai Traffic Police tweeted that due to traffic, Andheri Metro was closed. After the traffic was diverted to Vile Parle Bridge and Captain Gore Marg S.V. However, bus and metro services have resumed after being temporarily closed.

As for the commuters using the road, they shared a picture on Twitter showing the absence of traffic police at the Vile Parle and Vile Parle Fly Over Road signs. Continuing on, it takes about 30 minutes to reach the S.V. The IMD has informed the residents that rains are likely to continue. Also, they recommended that people not leave their homes unless it is urgent or necessary.
